The East London Aquarium is a pleasant visit for little children, and the low tanks make it easy for children in prams and wheelchairs to view the sea life without needing mom or dad to pick them up. Wheelchair accessible from a separate gated entrance, entrance and aquarium are easy to navigate.
With a range of fish species, beautiful seahorses, lobster, turtles and starfish, opportunity abounds to learn about creatures of the deep. The aquarium also has a penguin pool and daily seal shows, and we got to watch a gannet being fed. A boardwalk over the shark and stingray pool gives visitors the opportunity to get up close and perhaps catch sight of these predators lurking beneath.
Entrance for adults cost R30, and I wasn’t charged for Damian as a disabled visitor.
